OSSIAN — Indian Springs Middle School’s girls cross country team wrapped up its season in prime fashion.

The Lady Eagle-Stars raced out of the season as double conference champions, after winning the NELMSC (NLC) Saturday, and the NHMSC (NHC) Wednesday night.

Not only did ISMS grab the conference title, the girls beat Maple Creek (Carroll) for the first time in 12 years in the 10-team conference.

Maple Creek has held the conference title since 2002.

The Lady Eagle-Stars came away with a four-point victory over Maple Creek at Norwell Wednesday, despite two injured runners and another harrier ill.
