Michael Rucker, 64

Michael E. Rucker, 64, formerly of Columbia City, died at 7:45 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at his home in Noble County.
He was born September 10, 1948, in Wabash, a son of Cyrus E. and Margaret J. (Lynch) Rucker. He graduated from Wabash High School and Upper Wabash Vocational School.
On Nov. 24, 1982, he married Judy A. (Bunch) Farner. They made their home in Lagro a short time before moving to Columbia City. In 1999, they moved to Sevierville, Tenn. until February 2012.
A self employed auto body repairman, mechanic and carpenter, he also worked for Indiana State Highway, Smitty’s Electric and Clayton Homes.
He was a member of Luretta United Methodist Church in Sevierville.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Judy; two children, Michelle Beilor of Walkerton and Troy Rucker of Avilla; two stepsons, Jeff Farner of Albion and Bryan Farner of Columbia City; eight grandchildren and a sister, Myris Lewis of Wabash.
The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with the family receiving friends after noon.
Preferred memorials are to Heartland Hospice or Humane Society of donor’s choice.
