Meredith M. Gray, 86, of rural Albion, died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014 in the emergency room at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
She was born Oct. 30, 1927, in Crawfordsville, a daughter of Burchard and Dorothy (Conkright) Zachary.
She completed her education at Crawfordsville High School.
On Dec. 13, 1947, she was united in marriage to Billy F. Gray Sr. They made their home in Crawfordsville, Huntington, Big Lake, northern rural Columbia City, Baugher Lake, and Little Barbee before moving to their present home in Noble County 18 years ago.
A homemaker, she served as former president of the Eagles Auxiliary in Huntington.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Billy; two sons, Billy F. (Connie) Gray Jr. of Columbia City and Gary D. (Rose) Gray of Albion; seven grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Penny Jo Middleton of Lafayette and Sue Gardner of Pierceton; and a brother, Doc Zachary of North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Connie Rogers and Nigel Hart; and two brothers, Dick Zachary and Don Zachary.
There will be no visitation or service. Burial will take place at Thorn Cemetery, Ormas.
