Mary Ellen Rudisel-Jordan, 61, of Warsaw, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, as the result of injuries received in an vehicle accident.
Mary Ellen was born July 23, 1951, in South Bend, to Raymond and Mary Ann (Summy) Gradeless.
She was salutatorian in the 1969 graduating class of LaVille High School. She attended Manchester College and in 1995 she earned her degree from Ball State Universityâ€™s Architectural School.
In 1997, Mary Ellen Rudisel-Jordan became the owner and architect of Scearce Rudisel Architects, Inc., Warsaw. On March 20, 2000, she and Rev. James â€śJimâ€ť Jordan were married.
She was a very active member of the American Institute of Architects Indiana (AIA), Warsaw Community Church, Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club, Warsaw Zoning Board, president of the Warsaw community Development Corporation, and was a National Historic Building Assessor.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Jim; two sons, Stephen (Alixandra) Rudisel of West Lafayette, PV2 Daniel S. (Amanda) Rudisel of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Leanna (Jeff) Anderson of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren; mother, Mary Ann Gradeless of Warsaw; father and step mother, Ray and Donna Gradeless of Mishawaka; brother, Dr. Michael (Kathy) Gradeless of Carmel; four stepsons, Joseph A. (Jeanette) Jordan, Randall L. (Jodie) Jordan and Kevin L. (Jill) Jordan all of Columbia City; Bradley A. (Renae) Jordan of West Lafayette; and 15 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rebecca Rudisel.
Visitation will be today 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Pastor Jeff Pfeifer of Warsaw Community Church will officiate. The burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
