COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s 5th Annual Veterans Marathon is just around the corner — both literally and figuratively.

The Veterans Marathon, which is held in both downtown and rural Columbia City, is set to run next weekend, Saturday Nov. 9.

The race, which was formerly directed by running coach and enthusaist Gary Bird, has been handed over to the Three Rivers Running Company in 2013.

As of Oct. 30, there were 188 runners signed up for the marathon, 205 for the half marathon and 122 in the 5K.
