Lions down ’Busco

May 7, 2013

CHURUBUSCO — Despite taking a 7-5 advantage in the first inning, Churubusco’s softball team dropped a 19-9 game against Leo Monday night in Churubusco.

Both teams came out with hot bats in the first frame, as Leo opened the game with five runs and the Lady Eagles answered with seven of their own.

The second frame was a different story, as neither team scored.
Leo began to chip away at ’Busco’s lead in the third inning, outscoring the Lady Eagles 3-2.

The Lady Lions tied the score at nine in the fourth stanza, but tore the game open in the fifth and sixth innings.

Leo tacked on four runs in the fifth and six more in the sixth frame to accumulate 19 total runs.
