COLUMBIA CITY — After five rain delays the wait was worth it for the Columbia City Lady Eagles.
A week after they were supposed to open the class 3A sectional at Morsches Park, the Lady Eagles capped it off beating Lakeland 6-0 for a 7 p.m. regional date at home against Mishawaka Marian today.
“It’s about time,” Columbia City head coach Steve Cox said. “(Asst. Coach) Dan (Weigold) and I know what it’s like winning sectional and regional. We’ve been there. These kids haven’t so it’s got to feel good for them.”
