WARSAW — Columbia City’s girls swim team ended its season with a sixth-place sectional finish on Saturday.

The Lady Eagles ended the meet with 141 team points. Culver Academy came in first with a team score of 445. Host Warsaw was second with 382.

Columbia City netted a couple of fifth place finishes on the afternoon. Taylor Hartsock came in fifth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:10.19 and the 200 freestyle relay squad of Katlin Knott, Hartsock, Mishayla Hager and Cassie Bosselman came in fifth at a time of 1:55.39.

Knott also came in sixth with a time of 27.97 in the 50 freestyle and the 400 freestyle relay of Knott, Hager, Hartsock and Bosselman was also sixth.

“They did great,” Columbia City girls swimming coach Kristen Swonger said. “Getting sixth overall was awesome.”

Swonger was additionally happy with the balanced effort of the team.

“We had a girl in each event and all relays were in the top eight,” she said.

Whitko swimmer Emily Moseley came in 10th in the 200 individual medley and was also 12th in the breaststroke.
