Lady ’Cats drop season opener, 7-3

August 23, 2013

SOUTH WHITLEY — The result from the opening night performance was not what Head Coach Gary Sims had in mind.

At home to kick off their 2013 soccer campaign, the Whitko Lady Wildcats fell behind early and never recovered as the Cougars from Central Noble came away with a 7-3 win.

Following the contest, Sims was having a difficult time putting into words his disappointment.

“We are way better than this,” Sims said. “Tonight, we ran a lot, but we didn’t play soccer.”

As his players walked off the field, he reminded them how they are a much better team than their performance showed, and it was a game they must learn from.

Central Noble took control early, scoring three goals in the first nine minutes.
