Kathy J. Roberts, 57, of rural South Whitley, went to be with the Lord at 10:21 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, where she was admitted June 11.
She was born Oct. 11, 1955, in Columbia City a daughter of Richard J. and Marilyn J. (Blain) Bolinger. Her formative years were spent in South Whitley. She graduated from Whitko High School in 1974. On Sept. 22, 2009, she married Wayne A. Roberts. They made their home in rural South Whitley.
She was employed by Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance for 17 years, starting in the Whitley County branch and more recently working at the North Manchester branch. Prior, she worked at South Whitley Elementary School as a teacherâ€™s assistant.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of South Whitley.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne of South Whitley; two daughters, Mindy (Bret) Foltz of Yorktown and Marci Baker of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; sister, Deborah (Tim) Collier of Pierceton; and mother, Marilyn Bolinger of Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Bolinger and three brothers, James, Robert and Ronald Bolinger.
The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church of South Whitley with Pastor Robert Barton officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Smith and Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
