Jesse Brandom, 99

COLUMBIA CITY — Jessie I. Brandom, 99, of rural Columbia City, died at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at Covington Manor, Fort Wayne.
She was born Feb. 8, 1913, in Fort Wayne, a daughter of David Henry and Anna Ethel (Zumbrum) McCoy.
Her formative years were spent in the Arcola area. She graduated from Arcola
On Nov. 11, 1939, she was united in marriage to John Clifford Brandom, Sr.
He died May 18, 1983.
Survivors include a son, John C. Brandom, Jr., Fort Wayne and a daughter, Janice Brandom of Columbia City; a step-son, Larry Brandom, Columbia City; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Boardman; two brothers, Wilbur “Bud” McCoy and Robert McCoy; a sister, Helen Leffers and a step-daughter, Marilyn Rickhart.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial will be in the Eel River Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Lake Chapel United Methodist Church or Shriners’ Hospitals for Children. Condolences may be sent to smithandsonsfuneralhome.com.
