COLUMBIA CITY â€” Indian Springs Middle School hosted a wrestling invitational Saturday with four middle schools.
East Noble, Lakeland, Adams Central and Lincoln fell to the Eagles, who went 3-0 on the day and beat last yearâ€™s champions from Lincoln.
In the championship match, Indian Springs was trailing Lincoln with two wrestlers remaining. In the third period, Jackson Wilcoxon pinned his man to make the score 44-42. ISMS was behind by two points going into the final match.
Weston Ottinger pinned his opponent in eight seconds to make the score 48-44 â€” and take the win.
The Eagle wrestling team includes AJ Chapin, Braden Baker, Joe Willson, Jacob Wigent, Dylan McClure, Drew Rethlake, Chase Zubrick, Hunter Reen, Matt Wright, Seth Rosen Jamison Brown, Jacob Morse, Jake Whitehead, Mydrae Brown, Jake Elkins, Jackson Wilcoxson, Weston Ottinger, Brenden Schaper, Andrew McDaniel, Tate Homan, Reece Spencer, Jon Oâ€™Dell, Tyler Hare Josh Pequignot, Jacob Scott, Courtney Clingerman, Karsen Rider, Curtis Winebrenner, Trevor Fries, Paul Patton, Dillon Clingerman and Trevor Strete.
The Eagles travel to Norwell Wednesday to take on the Knights and New Haven for a triple-duel match.
