AN 'INVALUABLE' EXPERIENCE: Disabilities fair brings awareness to CCHS
COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City High School students were given a brief, but unique opportunity to experience life with disabilities Thursday.As part of Disabilities Awareness Month, several stations were set up around the high school gymnasium for students to visit.At each stop, a challenge was given to teens to maneuver through an obstacle with a twist that focused on a certain disability.Whether it was to walk from one point to another blindfolded with the help of a partner’s coaching, or to swerve in and out of cone markers in a wheelchair, students could experience first hand some of the day -to-day challenges someone with a disability has to face.To read the rest of this story, see the March 28 of The Post and Mail.
