INDIANA MAIN STREET ASSOCIATION: Columbia City group earns Main Street nod

COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s focus on downtown revitalization and improvement has paid off.The city was recently informed that it had met the state’s requirements to be designated as a Main Street Association.Indiana Main Street encourages the revitalization and restoration of downtown areas in Indiana cities and towns.The program provides technical assistance and educational opportunities to participating communities. Indiana Main Street is the state’s coordinating program to the National Main Street Center.Liane Minier, operations coordinator for the Whitley County Economic Development Corporation and volunteer with the group, recently educated Columbia City Rotarians about the new group whose mission is: “To make downtown Columbia City a viable place to operate a business, a rewarding place to live and a fun place to visit.”To read the rest of this story, see the March 28 of The Post and Mail.
