IMPROVEMENTS PLANNED: Parkview names buyer for Oaks, Pointe

September 20, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — An announcement was made at Monday’s Whitley County Commissioners meeting that The Oaks and The Pointe have been sold and will no longer be managed by Parkview Whitley Hospital.

In February, a press release was issued by the hospital stating its intentions to search for a buyer.

Pete Mallers, a legal representative of the hospital, told commissioners that BVM Whitley County LLC, is purchasing the business and real estate attached to The Oaks and The Pointe.

The two facilities, located on Wolf Road off of U.S. 30 in Columbia City, offer nursing care and living options for senior citizens.

“The company has plans to make significant improvements,” Mallers said. “They specialize in operating skilled nursing operations. I think they will be here for the citizens of Whitley County for a long time.”

According to business records filed with the Indiana Secretary of State, BVM Whitley County LLC is owned by Richard Rynard, Sr. and holds an Indianapolis address. No one with the company was available for comment.
