HONOR FLIGHT: Shively honored in flight to Washington D.C.

April 30, 2014

Charles Shively, local U.S. Army Vet, holds a photo of himself taken in 1945 at the age of 18. Shively is being flown to Washington D.C. today in honor of his service in WWII.

Unites States Army Vet Charles Shively, 87, a Whitley County native, will be flying high today on a one-day Honor Flight to Washington D.C.

Since 2009, Honor Flight, a nonprofit organization, has offered free airplane flights to World War II veterans to see the National World War II monuments in D.C. Shively left early this morning and will return tonight.
