HOMESTEAD VERIFICATION: Final letter of notification mailed out

November 26, 2012

COLUMBIA CITY — While the fall installment deadline for property taxes sent an influx of people into the Whitley County Auditor’s office last week, approximately 1,700 Homestead Verification sheets have yet to be turned into the office. The deadline is Dec. 31.

Whitley County Auditor Jennifer McGuire recently sent out the final letter of notification Wednesday to those who still need to return the pink sheet.

According to McGuire, the sheet has been mailed out to citizens every year for the past three years.
