Holiday games set for CC, Whitko

   While others are gaining rest and relaxation over the holidays, two local will be featured in tournament play.
   Columbia City plays host for two different tournaments. On Dec. 28, the boys’ basketball team will be part of a four-team shoot-out. The schedule includes: 10 a.m. — FW Blackhawk Christian vs Columbia City, noon — Prairie Heights vs Wapahani, 6 p.m. — Wapahani vs FW Blackhawk Christian, 8 p.m. — Columbia City vs Prairie Heights.
   A day later, the Lady Eagles basketball team hosts the annual ACAC/NHC Challenge. The schedule has Columbia City leading off against Heritage at 10 a.m. Other games include: 11:30 a.m. — Garrett vs Homestead, 6 p.m. — Heritage vs Homestead, 7:30 p.m. — Garrett vs Columbia City.
   The same day Whitko  girls’ and boys’ basketball teams will tip off in a two-day Miami County holiday tournament at North Miami High School.
   The first day of events include junior varsity boys at 11 a.m., girls’ varsity at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and the boys’ varsity at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
   On Dec. 30, the action will begin at 12:30 p.m. with the consolation and championship of the JV followed by the girls’ and boys’ consolation games.
   That night, the girls’ championship game will begin at approximately 6 p.m. followed by the boys’ championship game.
   Pre-sale tickets for the varsity games are $15 for all-sessions. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased at any of the participating schools until school is dismissed for Christmas break.
   All tickets sold at the door will be single-session only. Single-session prices for day one are $5 for the girls’ varsity first round/boys junior varsity games and $5 for the boys’ varsity first round.
   Ticket prices for day two are $8, which will get you into all sessions.
