Herman Farber, 82

Herman William Farber, 82, died Friday, April 19, 2013, at his home. He was born January 4, 1931 in Columbia City the son of the late Raymond and Elma Farber.
On September 8, 1973, he was united in marriage with Ruth Hart, and she preceded in him death August 27, 2002.
Herman served his country in the U.S. Army for 21 years. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He worked at American Hoist in Ft. Wayne.
He was a member of the Leo American Legion Post 409, Masonic Lodge in Leo and Eagles Aerie #2556 in Hicksville, Ohio.
Herman is survived by his daughter, Jutta Judy (Kenneth) Bolen of Columbia City; son, Gerald (Linda) Farber of Bridgeport, W. Va.; six grandchildren, Bradley and Randall Tyler Farber, Malena Wood, Jessica Couch and Carter Ray Wireman; and three nieces, Karen Gust, Julia Fanson and Venia Geiger.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis Farber and Jimmy Pressler.
Herman will be honored at the Leo American Legion Post 409, Saturday at 4 p.m.
