Helen M. (Deck) Potter, 92, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at The Oaks in Columbia City. She was born Nov. 21, 1920, in Fort Wayne.
Helen was a homemaker that loved caring for her family. She loved playing the piano and singing.
Helen was a member of Salvation Army Church and a life member of the D.A.V. Womenâ€™s Auxiliary.
Surviving relatives include are her son, Donald L. (Cheryl) Potter of Columbia City; daughter, Carolyn (Dan) Hall of Clifton, TX; daughter, Mary (Jim) Runyan of Albion; 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Ruth A. Cleveland of Fort Wayne.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Raymond L. Potter; parents, Charles F. and Geraldine Pacel; son, Robert E. Potter; brother, Delbert W. Deck; brother, Robert Deck and sister, Margaret Deck.
The service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd. with calling from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
The cemetery service at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne will be Monday at 10 a.m. The burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army. To view the online guest book, go to www.mccombandsons.com.
