COLUMBIA CITY — A man is facing six felony charges after he allegedly attempted to rape a 13-year-old girl in Columbia City early Friday morning.

Dustin A. Nimtz, 18, of Columbia City, allegedly broke into an apartment at Park Terrace — armed with a deadly weapon.

According to court records, Nemitz then forced the victim to perform sexual acts on him.

Nemitz pleaded not guilty in Whitley County Circuit Court Monday morning to all six felony charges, including attempted rape and molesting, burglary and strangulation.

Columbia City’s Police Department was initially called Friday to the emergency room at Parkview Whitley Hospital for an alleged attempted rape and stabbing investigation, police said.

According to court records, the girl received bodily injury and was allegedly strangled.
