Bill Smith is intending to begin his company, Blue M. Medical, in Columbia City.

Blue M. Medical will manufacture medical devices. Smith had worked in a similar arena in Warsaw and now hopes to bring the experience to his hometown.

“He’s a homegrown entrepreneur and its an investment in the city. It benefits everyone as far as the community is concerned,” Whitley County EDC President Alan Tio said.

Blue M. Medical is still looking into buildings for a full-time site. Tio said the company is operational, but it’s still in the beginning phases.
