HEAD OF THE CLASS: CCHS honors two class leaders

May 9, 2014

Columbia City High School’s valedictorians Kiersten Thomas (left) and Sarah Wise have two different personalities, as depicted in the photo. While Thomas spent three years in show choir, Wise was involved in athletics.

For the first time in Columbia City High School’s history, two valedictorians have been named.

They may have different personalities and different academic motivation, but the end result was the same — Sarah Wise and Kiersten Thomas are at the top of the CCHS Class of 2014.

Neither Wise nor Thomas set out to be the valedictorians of their class when they started high school.

“It was less about being at the top of my class and more about keeping up with my sister,” Thomas said.

Thomas’ sister, Michaela, was salutatorian of the Class of 2012.
