October 7, 2013

FORT WAYNE — Columbia City’s boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Fort Wayne for the Northeast Hoosier Conference cross country meet Saturday.

In a day with poor weather, both teams placed seventh out of eight teams.

“Running conditions at race time were heavy rain, muddy and chilly,” Columbia City Head Coach Bob Fahl said.

The girls were led by Samantha Roush, who picked up her fourth 1st-Team All-NHC title.

Roush placed fourth with a time of 19:33.

Columbia City’s girls’ number two runner, Brooke Werstler, placed 25th overall.
