COLUMBIA CITY — A Columbia City athlete saw his cross country season end early, and now has seen the next step in his career begin early.

Evan Harney, a senior, was injured midway through the 2013 season for the Eagles.

However, in late October he signed with Indiana Tech to continue his running career.

The move comes early in the recruiting process.

Harney will run cross country and distance events in track for the Warriors.

Before stepping foot on a college cross country course, though, Harney is far from finished at Columbia City. He said his doctor told him he will be able to compete in his senior track and field season this spring.
