Gridiron open for business

August 16, 2010

Wide receiver Connor Slavich battles a Goshen cornerback for a long pass down the sidelines in the first offensive series for Columbia City.

The Columbia City gridiron was open for business for the first time in the 2010 season Friday night. The Eagles played host to Goshen in a scrimmage in full contact. For three series the two squads switch between offense and defense running plays from different areas of the field. Next week, the Eagles get their first taste of the regular season with Warsaw coming to Max Gandy Athletic Field.
