SOUTH WHITLEY â Whitkoâs boys track team comes off a successful campaign last year looking to continue a string of Three Rivers Conference championships that stretches back to 2008.
The Wildcats will need to replace a backbone of seniors from last yearâs team that finished with a 9-1 record.
âWe lost a large, successful senior class and they will be difficult to replace,â said Wildcat Head Coach Ron Cherry. âAlec Wilkinson was a pole vaulter who qualified for the state meet. Trapper Mize, Brody Wilson, Dallas Asher, Dylan Cozad and Jude Stieglitz were extremely successful and record-setting distance runners who all qualified for the regional.â
âBrandon Nettrouer was a great 400 runner and regional qualifier, while Jordan Sims was a regional qualifier,â said Cherry. âDerek Snep was a regional qualifier in the shot put. All of these guys will be difficult to replace.â
The Wildcats will look for help in the sprint races from Connor Stouder, who was Whitkoâs top sprinter last year.
