Freshman Klimek hits hole-in-one

April 26, 2013

HUNTINGTON — Columbia City’s golf team traveled to LaFontaine Golf Course Thursday to face the Huntington North Vikings.

Despite a hole-in-one by Eagle freshman Spencer Klimek, Columbia City fell to the Vikings, 161-169.

Klimek led the Eagles with a 39, scoring his hole one-in-one on hole No. 17 from 142 yards out.

“Spencer led our team tonight,” Columbia City Head Coach Andrew Thompson said. “He came out and had the great fortune to have the hole-in-one and that is a tremendous accomplishment. It’s a tremendous feeling, and that is icing on the cake for him.”

Fellow freshman Tyler Green was not far behind Klimek, scoring a 41.
Junior Trent Murphy carded a 44 while freshman Cameron Slavich came in one stroke behind him with a 45.
