Florence M. Heath, 80, of Albion, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Parkview Noble Hospital.
Born July 14, 1932, in Decatur, she was the daughter of Nelson W. and Ida E. (Busch) Lahrman.
She graduated from New Haven High School with the Class of 1951. On Aug. 9, 1952, she married Richard Elmer Heath at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. She lived in Allen County, moving to Whitley County, in 1972. She worked at Plaza Cleaning Village Center, Columbia City for seven years, S&L Truck Stop for five years and first shift cook at Sammyâ€™s Place, Fort Wayne. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her three daughters, Patricia R. Colvin and Eileen M. Heath both of Columbia City and Beatrice S. Heath of Villa Grove, Ill.; son, Richard A. Heath of W. Vermountville, Mich.; brother, Ralph Lahrman of New Haven; brother-in-law, Everett S. Weaver of Florida; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Elmer Heath in 2008; daughter, Bonnie R. Heath in 1971; sisters, Rose Weaver and Nina Lahrman and great-granddaughter, Heaven Swick.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Certified Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus officiating. The burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens.
