A FAMILIAR FACE: Former WCCS teacher named ’Busco principal

June 19, 2013

Scott Fudge

CHURUBUSCO — Those familiar with Whitley County Consolidated Schools may recognize the name, or face, of Smith-Green Community School’s latest hire.

Scott Fudge will be the next Churubusco Elementary School principal, effective Aug. 1.

Fudge worked in WCCS for 17 years, from 1995 to 2012, as a first- and third-grade teacher with Mary Raber and Little Turtle Elementary Schools.

His employment at CES was made official by the SGCS Board of School Trustees by a unanimous vote at its Monday night meeting.

“Churubusco is a perfect fit,” said Fudge. “I’m excited to work with (SGCS Superintendent Galen) Mast. He has some of the same philosophies as I do about the kids and learning. With the success that Churubusco has had in its elementary with its scores and being a Grade-A school — I’m really excited.”

His latest employment was as principal of Nancy Hanks Elementary, a school in the North Spencer County School Corporation. Fudge spent the 2012-13 school year in Ferdinand.
