Fairfield tops ’Busco tennis

CHURUBUSCO — Churubusco’s Lady Eagle tennis squad squared off against visiting Northeast Corner Conference foe Fairfield Monday night on the ’Busco courts.

The Falcons were not the best of guests, as they took a 5-0 win over the Lady Eagles.

At No. 1 singles, Fairfield freshman Emily Mast took a 6-0, 6-0 win from Churubusco sophomore Cheyenne Conner.

The Eagles’ Audrey Gierscher fell by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores in the No. 2 singles contest to Fairfield sophomore Lauren Streit.

’Busco junior Madi Cook, playing at the No. 3 singles slot, fell to Falcon senior Mackenzie Hochstedler, also by a 6-0, 6-0 count.
