EXTENSION OFFICE: Board elects new members

COLUMBIA CITY — Whitley County’s Extension Office welcomed three new board members at its annual meeting Tuesday night.

Four members from the 12-member board were completing their term, including John Hilligoss, Meredith Hoffman, John Saggers and Doug Sheetz.

All but Sheetz declined being nominated for a new term. Joining Sheetz, following an election, were new board members Jeff Geiger, Sharon Hesting and Judy Kreider.

Sheetz will be entering his second three-year term and has served six years on the 4-H Council while serving as its president for three years.

He has actively volunteered at the 4-H fair during the past 12 years. Sheetz and his wife, Karleen, have two daughters, Kelzie and MaeKenzie, who are current members of 4-H. Sheetz and his family attend Sugar Creek Church of the Nazarene.
