The Mass of Christian Burial for Edman Michael Anthony Lis, 55, formerly of Chicago, will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake, Ill. Monsignor Daniel Hermes will be the celebrant. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, Ill.
The visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m., Sunday and Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of prayers at 11 a.m., at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
Born June 17, 1957, in Chicago, to Rita (nee Cotter) and the late Edman Lis, he passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013.
He was a former member of the IBEW Local 134, and went on to become co-founder and president of his own telecommunications company, CCI, in Chicago.
He retired to Columbia City, where he pursued his passion for muscle cars and created Eden Automotive with his brother-in-law, Dennis.
Ed was a devoted son, loving brother, dear uncle, godfather and mentor. Whether lifelong or new, Ed had many treasured friendships.
Surviving relatives include his mother, Rita Lis of Fox River Grove, Ill.; sisters, Mary Kay (George) Moersch of Crystal Lake and Judy (Dennis) Laughlin of Cary, Ill.; nieces and nephews, Heidi (Craig) Butcher of Hampshire, Ill., Ashley and Tyler Moersch of Crystal Lake, and Patrick, Ryan, and Caroline Laughlin of Cary; and great- nephew and niece, CJ and Maddie Butcher.
