Eagle football squad falls in 7-on-7 finals
KENDALLVILLE — Even with a youth movement on the team, Columbia City’s football squad has shown a great deal of achievement in a tournament this summer.Playing seven-on-seven football, the Eagles advanced to the finals of a 16-team tournament at East Noble last week.Columbia City lost in the finals of the tournament to New Haven.Garrett was the first foe for the Eagles. Columbia City fell to the Railroaders, but won its next five games. The Eagles beat Churubusco, DeKalb, Concordian, Carroll and Woodlan.Senior quarterback Travis Herbst was at the helm of the Eagle offense in the 7-on-7 drill, which is a passing game competition played without linemen.To read the rest of this story, see the June 25 issue of The Post and Mail.
