COLUMBIA CITY — Police arrested a mother and son on methamphetamine-related charges Wednesday morning.

Melodie Myer, 39, of Columbia City, and Robert Barnett, 22, of Columbia City, were booked on multiple drug-related charges after police found precursors in their residence, 220 E. Van Buren St., in Columbia City.

Two unrelated children were in the home at the time of the police raid, and were placed into temporary child protective custody.

Whitley County Drug Task Force Detective Bill Brice said the children were unharmed and no methamphetamine was being manufactured while the children were in the residence.
