DOUBLE HONOREE: 'Oldest' Old Settler receives distinctions

Ada VanDeman, of Columbia City, received double honors Thursday evening by the Old Settlers Association as the oldest Old Settler to register at the Whitley County Historical Museum – and the longest continuous resident, as well. VanDeman, who resides at Miller’s Merry Manor, is 97 years old. She received her pair of plaques from Old Settlers Association officers, from left, Gene Smith, Ralph Bailey and 2016 President Don Armstrong.
