Doris J. Doty, 88, formerly of Woodburn, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Columbia City.
Born in rural Allen County she was the daughter of the late Carl and Minerva (Louden) Baumert.
She retired in 1968 after 15 years with General Electric Company and was a loving homemaker for her husband of 70 years, Wayne, he survives.
She was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church, Payne, Ohio and the GE Elex Club. Doris loved her many years spent in Florida fishing with Wayne.
In addition to her husband Wayne, she is survived by her children, Barbara A. (Max) Cotner and Dale (Lana) Doty both of Columbia City; brother, William(June) Baumert of New Haven, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and LeRoy Baumert and sister, Helen McNeal.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Lutheran Church, 511 W. Townline Rd., Payne, Ohio with calling one hour prior.
Calling is also 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Ind. 930 E., New Haven.
