Donald Crawford, 80

Donald E. Crawford, 80, of Larwill, passed away at 3 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born Feb. 27, 1933, in Boone County, he was the son of Charles R. Crawford and Ruby F. (Kinkade) Crawford.
On June 16, 1970, he married Carolyn J. Darr in Lebanon. He was a custodian at Whitko Community Schools, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Carol; son, Kenny (Kathy) Carson of Huntingdon, Tenn.; daughters, Penny (Ron Crosby) Hemphill of Syracuse, Bonny (Dan) Warren of Leesburg and Donna (Carl “Bubba”) Hooks of Silver Lake; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his dog, Peanut. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; one sister; and infant grandson, Jordan Warren.
A memorial gathering will be held Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City, with a funeral service at 7 p.m. Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus will be officiating.
Memorial gifts may be given in Mr. Crawford’s memory to Humane Society of Whitley County or Parkview Whitley Home Health Care and Hospice.
