COLUMBIA CITY — Corinne Kauffman, Whitley County’s Distinguished Young Woman for 2013, joined high school seniors from across Indiana for DYW’s state program.

The event was held Thursday and Friday night with a myriad of talent presentations, questions, interviews and other behind the scene opportunities for the contestants.

Kauffman was received by family and friends at a reception in her honor Sunday.

Held at the Whitley County Community Foundation, Kauffman shared her week’s experiences with her supporters.

“I was amazed by the other girls,” Kauffman said. “Getting to know them all was such a blessing. They were all such Godly girls and I had a great connection with them. I never felt out of place.”

Kauffman said one of her highlight moments was a night spent “having fun” with the other contestants.
