Dirt diagnosis causes concern for Whitko construction

PIERCETON — Calendar woes have been the source of debate for school officials with weather delays and cancellations.

However, for Whitko Community School Corporation, confirming the school calendar has been hampered by pending construction more than weather.

“We have to work in time to move students to different parts of the school building as we progress with construction at both elementary schools,” said WCSC Superintendent Steve Clason. “This is a very complex puzzle we have to put together. Between construction timelines and school dates, we have to keep kids safe and ensure that education is not affected.”
