David Mills, 22

David J. Mills, 22, of Columbia City, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2014.
Born May 2, 1991, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Bill R. Mills and Pamela G. (Becker) Mills.
He attended Roanoke Baptist School until 2008 and graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 2009.
David received his Bachelor’s Degree from IPFW in business law in May of 2013.
He had recently applied to the U.S. Navy to achieve a goal of becoming an Aircraft Carrier Pilot. David had worked at Sycamore Hills Golf Course in Fort Wayne and was a substitute teacher in Whitley and Wabash County. He attended Sugar Creek Fellowship and enjoyed basketball, softball, and working out at the YMCA. He was an avid golfer, winning many awards.
Surviving relatives include his father, Bill Mills of Fort Wayne; mother, Pam Mills of Columbia City; sisters, Jill Mills of Columbia City, Meredith (Braden) Handley of Fort Wayne and Angela (Hank) Fehr of Aylmer, Ontario, Canada; brothers, Greg (Brandie) Mills of Roanoke and Jeff (Kylie) Mills of Fort Wayne; five nieces; two nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier.
