COURT UPDATE: Alleged car thief pleads not guilty to charges

COLUMBIA CITY — A man accused of crashing a stolen vehicle through the Columbia City BMV pleaded not guilty in court Monday.

Danny Rose, 20, of Columbia City, was arrested July 23 for auto theft, resisting law enforcement, criminal mischief and reckless driving.

After his not guilty plea, Rose requested a public defender and will be represented by Brad Voelz.

According to case reports, officers were called to a home in response to battery July 21. At that time, Rose was alleged to have committed battery and criminal mischief against his ex-girlfriend.
