COURT RULING: Plea agreement reached in deception case

May 26, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — A man arrested in January in a fraud case from 2009 pleaded guilty in court Monday.

Andrew Bunger, 29, of Angola, admitted to writing a bad check in 2009, which constituted check deception. His acknowledgement of guilt was part of a plea arrangement.

As part of the deal, Bunger was sentenced to a year in the Whitley County Jail, with all of it suspended except for the approximately four months he has already served.

Bunger was released from jail Monday.
