County welcomes first baby of 2014

January 3, 2014

COLUMBIA CITY — Whitley County’s first new citizen born in 2014 came as a healthy baby boy Thursday.

Conner Isaiah Curry was born Jan. 2, 2014, at 7:34 a.m. at Parkview Whitley Hospital.

He weighed in at 6 pounds, 9 ounces at birth and measured 19.25 inches in length.

He is the son of Kayla Curry and Nicholas Gagnon of Columbia City, and joins his older brother, Jayden, who is 4 years old.

Conner was delivered by Dr. Michelle Harrison in a C-section.

His mother, Kayla, said she did not expect to have the first baby of 2014, since the delivery was a scheduled C-section.
