CONFERENCE, COUNTY CHAMPS: Girls track wins third straight NHMLC

NEW HAVEN — Indian Springs Middle School’s girls track team won its third straight Northeast Hoosier Middle Level Conference Title.ISMS’s boys squad placed third behind Carroll and Maple Creek.The event was held at New Haven Saturday, and both teams will travel to Plymouth to compete in the NLMSC conference meet.New Haven’s event had several teams, including DeKalb, Bellmont, Summit, East Noble, Woodside and Norwell, along with Carroll, Maple Creek, New Haven and ISMS.Elise Cormany earned 1st-Team All-Conference in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.63, and took second in the 200-meter dash.The girls 1,600-meter relay tam of Cormany, Mason Van Houten, Morgan Bales and Ashley Johnson also took top honors, placing first with a time of 4:28.14.Brittney Kinney placed first in the discus with a throw of 87 feet, 1 inch.
