Columbia City boys take 2nd

HUNTERTOWN — Columbia City’s boys track team took home second place at a three-way meet at Carroll Tuesday.

The host Chargers scored 111 to place first. The Eagles had 28 and Bellmont had 27.

Columbia City swept the throwing events. Dakota Goldwood was first in the shot put with a toss of 42 feet, 0.5 inches. Wyatt Larkey took first in the discus with a throw of 139-2.

There were three second-place finishes for the Eagles. Mitchell Maloney was runner-up in the pole vault. Relay-wise, the 3,200-meter team of Seth Kissinger, David Fulk, Evan Van Houten and Evan Harney was second.

The other second-place finish was garnered by the 1,600-meter relay squad of Kissinger, Fulk, Harney and Ryan Mosher.

The Eagles will have the NHC meet Friday at New Haven.
