Col. City golf topped by 2 strokes
FORT WAYNE — In a match that was made up after a rain postponement earlier in the season, the Columbia City Eagles golf team traveled the short distance to take on the Canterbury Cavaliers at Chestnut Hills Golf Course Monday night.
The Eagles lost a close match, 161-163.
“This was a good match,” Columbia City Head Coach Andrew Thompson said. “This is a tough course and we handled it well, but it just wasn’t quite enough.
Columbia City freshman Spencer Klimek led the way for the Eagles, carding a 38 on the par 36 course.
“It was good to see Spencer shoot so well tonight,” Thompson said.
Fellow freshman Cameron Slavich was not far behind, bringing in a 40.
