Col. City golf makes top 10 at Concordia Invitational

FORT WAYNE — In a pool of 17 teams, Columbia City’s boys golf team placed seventh at the Concordia Invitational at Foster Park Saturday.

Northeast Hoosier Conference foe Bellmont won the match with a 315, not far ahead of fellow NHC DeKalb (317).

Heritage (321), Concordia (328) and Bishop Luers (328) split another pair of NHC teams.

East Noble edged out Columbia City by seven points (329-336).

Also making a presence from the NHC was New Haven, which placed 14th.

On the 18-hole, par 71 course, Drew Burnsworth led the Eagles with an 82, seven strokes behind the medalists from Northrop and Heritage, who finished the day with 75s.

Trent Murphy and Max Dryer each posted 84s.

Dustin Parrett wasn’t far behind with an 86, and Derek Philbee rounded off Columbia City’s top five with a 92.
