Col. City falls to Norwell

October 18, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — The Columbia City Eagles fought back from a momentum snapping fumble in the first half to close to within a touchdown of visiting Northeast Hoosier Conference opponent Norwell before falling to the Knights by a 35-21 score in a senior night game at the Max Gandy Athletic Field.

In a game dominated by both team’s offenses, the Knights took the opening kickoff and rode the legs and arm of quarterback Piercen Harnish down the field. Harnish, who proved elusive to the Eagle tacklers all night, reeled of a 32-yard run that gave the visitors a first down on the Columbia City 35-yard line.

Following a 14 yard completion, Harnish found junior Jeremy Davis for a 17-yard touchdown pass to put Norwell up by a 7-0 score with 6:18 left in the first quarter.
