City’s Weigold chooses Manchester University

COLUMBIA CITY — Three-year letterman Kyle Weigold has committed to attend Manchester University to play football this fall.

Weigold was an offensive tackle for the Eagles last season, and is continuing his football career under the direction of Manchester Head Coach Shannon Griffith.

“Kyle had been a mainstay on our offensive line since his sophomore year,” Columbia City Head Coach Randy Hudgins said. “He displays incredible love of the game and caring for his teammates.”

Weigold, who is the son of Columbia City Councilman Dan Weigold and his wife Laura, plans to study education at Manchester.

Hudgins said the team will have more players of the class of 2013 announce their college plans soon.
